Career
Singh made his acting debut in 1996 as the lead actor in Tere Mere Sapne, which was produced by Amitabh Bachchan's A.B.C.L. He then won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for his performance in the critically acclaimed Maachis which released later that year.[2] He appeared in several films and had success with his lead role in Josh (2000), opposite Aishwarya Rai, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan. He had supporting roles in the hit films Daag: The Fire (1999) and Kya Kehna (2000).
After initial successes, his career went into a low, because of multiple dislocation of his shoulder joint, which he suffered while water skiing in Goa. Because of the pain on his shoulder, he couldn't work out or stay fit which caused him to gain weight and lose roles. Apparently, his last known film was Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa (2001), directed by David Dhawan, which failed to attract crowds. He has not acted in any film since Sarhad Paar which was shot in 2004 and released much later. It was stated that his comeback film was Maruthi Mera Dost, which turned out to be a cameo appearance. He has a comeback with a movie with Tusshar Kapoor called Chaar Din Ki Chandni.
